To Answer Your Question: "Yes, It Was $12"
It amazes me how many times in my life I was relieved to get my period. I'm not saying that I did not practice safe sex, but you just never know. And I can remember many times when I was late and I'd stare at the calendar trying to do some quick calculations in my head.
"I'm 2 days late, I'm on a 28 day cycle, there are 31 days in this month, I had sex 12 days ago, I have gained 2.6 pounds, it costs $130k to raise a kid in today's world not including college, if I'm pregnant I will jump out of a 4 story building and be dead in 42 seconds..."
Then when I was in my late twenties and newly married, I could not wait to NOT get my period and wishing every time I went to the bathroom that it did not come. I remember the first month of trying, I got my period on my mother's birthday and I was so upset that I forgot to call her.
Now that I am in my early thirties and married with a toddler and two teenage boys still home and a part-time job during a recession, I was once again excited yesterday to get my period.
I came out of the bathroom holding the unopened EPT test:
"Woo hoo! I can go back to Target and return this tomorrow!"
"Huh? You thought you were pregnant?"
"Oh, yeah I didn't want to upset you, but it's ok. I got my period"
He looked like he was going to pass out. Then said:
"You're really going to return a pregnancy test?"

I would probably be three months along before I even noticed I didn't get my period. How sad is that??? And then I wouldn't even be able to drink a bottle of wine to comfort myself.
