Can't We Just Call Handy Manny?

I do not do well with any sort of home improvement project that takes more than, say, a few hours. And while we bought this house 5 years ago, we only take on one project a year. One reason is money, which is why we wait until bonus time. Another reason is because any sort of disruption in my home DRIVES ME NUTS!

The worst was finishing the basement. I don't even want to talk about it. I was very pregnant, unemployed so I was home everyday, and it was just a mess.

And two years later...nobody uses the basement. Money well spent!

Last year is was the kitchen. No, we did not replace the cabinets or flooring or even the countertop. All we did was take down the yellow flower wallpaper and paint. It was all I could take.

The year before that it was the siding. Very easy. We hired someone.

Oh, I forgot to mention that my husband likes to do everything himself. I would rather hire Handy Manny...or Ty Pennington. Either one really. They both do such a quick job. Manny is finished by the time his tools finish their little "we work together now" ditty. And Ty and his crew send the family off on vacation and by the time they got home - Voila!

This year we are doing our master bedroom and bath. More wallpaper. More painting. More money and much much more stress.

All I ask is that I only have to sleep on the couch for one...maybe two nights. Please.

Now everybody sing:

Hop up jump in.
Don't move too slow.
Let's get to work!

I also love that Handy Manny can come at a moment notice and the hardware store always has what he needs.

Yes, my husband comments that Home Depot doesn't even have what he needs, but Kelly would.

Perhaps we should move to Sheetrock Hills ;)
